Speeder Ltd - RoHS   WEEE and Environmental Policy

RoHS

The Restriction of the use of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive came into operation in 2006. It bans the sale in the European Union of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.

As a responsible business, Speeder Ltd is committed to recycling, minimising waste and limiting those operations which increase our carbon footprint. We comply fully with the RoHS, and WEEE regulations. We buy RoHS compliant components and keep a record of our suppliers RoHS policies.   We offer an end of life collection point for WEEE products and have a contract with Tor2 for the removal of WEEE waste from our premises. We encourage our customers to dispose of unwanted equipment responsibly if they choose not to return them to us.
We re-use all suitable boxes in packaging, while waste cardboard and paper are stored separately from general waste and taken to local recycling depots. We use bio-degradable corn chips as packing material.

End of Life Product Disposal Arrangements

The Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE) European Directives 2002/96/EC and 2003/108/EC aim to:

  • Reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment
  • Encourage the separate collection of WEEE
  • Encourage treatment, reuse, recovery, recycling and sound environmental disposal of WEEE
  • Make producers of EEE responsible for the environmental impact of their products
  • Improve the environmental performance of all those involved during the lifecycle of EEE

Speeder Ltd is committed to the recycling of all their products at the end of their useful life. Customers are advised that all end of life products may be returned, at the senders expense, to our factory in , Devon for disposal in accordance with the WEEE regulations.
